Kids' Fishing Pond
The kids' fishing pond features a handicap accessible fishing pier made possible through the community’s support. Fishing offers a fun way of introducing youth to the outdoors, which may lead to a lifelong interest in nature and its preservation. The thrill of catching a fish for the first time, expressed in squeals, is often heard around the 1.3-acre pond.
Fish species in the fishing pond include bluegill, redear sunfish, largemouth bass and catfish. Visitors to the fishing pond may also see belted kingfishers, a Canada goose family or turtles basking on logs. The familiar “ba-rum” call of the bullfrog resonates from the pond throughout the summer.
Rules posted at the pier give information about catch limits. No ice fishing allowed. No swimming allowed.
The fishing pier can be reserved for wedding ceremonies.
